Dntl Talk

Producing a monthly podcast from first light to final upload

I run Dntl Talk from the ground up: filming, lighting, and sound on shoot day, then editing the full episode and cutting it down into short clips for social. Since September 2024, I've produced 21 episodes, released on YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Podcasts. Our episode with former hockey player Hayley Wickenheiser has pulled in 152,000 views on its own.

Running production solo, start to finish

Every episode starts with a shoot day that usually runs one to two hours, plus setup time that changes depending on the space we're filming in. I run a multi-camera setup and handle lighting and audio myself, which means solving problems on the spot: bad room acoustics, tricky lighting in small spaces, and remote guests coming in with lower camera quality than what's on set. Getting the audio in sync across every camera is its own job before editing even starts. Once filming wraps, I cut the full episode first, then pull three to four short clips out of it for YouTube. A full episode gets edited and turned around in about three days, so the whole thing runs on a tight, repeatable process rather than starting from scratch each time.
